Healthy Snacks

As we are all mostly working from home, I guess we have all increased our snack intake… so here is a list of snack healthy ideas that hopefully will inspire you in this period.

All the fruits

Whether it is an apple, a banana or half of grapefruit is always better than a packet of chips. Also, did you know that it is better to eat your fruits out of meal? When you eat a fruits after a meal, your digestive systems is full and will not incorporate all the nutrients. However, if you have fruits before or as a snack, your body will benefit it all. If you prefer cooked fruits, making a compote ahead of the week is a good alternative.

Yogurt

As simple as it is a plain yogurt fills you up. It might be a bit bland on its own, so you might want to add some granola, fresh berries or a drizzle of honey. I have been having it with compote and think it’s a great combo!

Nuts & Dried fruits

Easy to store and carry, nuts are always a good idea. Also, if you have some time ahead, try roasting them for a warm and nuttier taste. Just keep in mind that these little nibbles regorge calories so to be snacked with moderation.

Hummus & Veggies

Whether it is the classical hummus or any other version, these dips made of pulses or vegetables are not only healthy, but fill you well and are perfect to maintain a healthy gut. To be eaten with vegetable sticks or light crackers.

Crackers

Sometimes all you want to have is something crunchy. Be aware that although some cracker have a packaging that look healthy, they do not always have the best ingredients. You can have a look at my list of favorite cracker in the market. But having just a crakcer can be a bit bland, so why not top it up with some light cottage cheese, avocado slices or a slice of ham.
